Profile

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character. It is a modern institution with a personal atmosphere, situated on Belval campus and in Luxemburg city, close to European institutions, innovative companies and the financial centre. With 6,423 students and staff from all over the globe, the University offers a unique mix of international excellence and national relevance, delivering knowledge for society and businesses. Founded in 2003 as the first and only public university of the Grand Duchy, we have already built a reputation among the best young universities in the world.

All our Bachelor's students study abroad for at least one semester. Student exchange agreements and research cooperations exist with more than 100 universities in Europe and throughout the world, and cross-border study and research is commonplace.

* General tuition fee for the majority of programmes. No additional tuition fees for foreign students.
* 400 € in semesters 1 and 200 € for all other semesters. Fees for specific programmes (Master in Logistics and supply chain management, Master in space ressources…) may vary.

Among the top 250 universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2020. No. 1 worldwide in the THE “international outlook” Rankings 2020. No. 17 worldwide in the THE Young University Rankings 2019.
In the THE subcategory of “Millennials” (universities founded since the year 2000), the University of Luxembourg is ranked in an excellent 4th position of 64 universities worldwide.
No. 161 in the global NATURE index 2018 of universities with increasing publication numbers in first-rate scientific journals and no. 14 among institutions younger than 30 years.
